My own books tend to reflect my interest in the countryside and heritage. I like to explore the past and the industry, interesting people, folklore etc. A weekly page in a newspaper I did about local history proved very popular and led to the Peeks at the Past books – taking a look at Sheffield and the nooks and crannies passed by everyday that we often miss, as well as historic places. They are full colour A4 with plenty of photos and illustrations. Following on from that were the Peeks at the Peak books, about Derbyshire and the Peak District.
A biography of a Peak District museum owner and friend of Houdini, Randolph Douglas, and some evocative old photos and journals about 1920s rambles, made into the book Sunshine and Rain, are my other publications to date.
