Travel Writing

I have had travel features published in various newspapers and magazines, including The Sheffield Telegraph, The Sheffield Star, Derbyshire Life, The Yorkshire Post, Peak Advertiser and Profile Magazine.
Subjects have ranged from doing research on humpbacked whales in Hawaii to chocolate making in the Peak District, from ghost hunting in Edinburgh to orca spotting in Norway.

Other personal highlights of subjects I have covered so far, been sailing around Tenerife and the Hebrides on the beautiful ketch Marguerite Explorer, taking to the air in a tiger moth, staying in a 1920s island hotel, travelling down the Florida Keys (in a huge red car that was supposed to be compact!) and travelling back in time to be a Tudor at Kentwell Hall in Suffolk.

I like to try and find a quirky or unusual angle for a piece, and can provide my own photographs, illustrations and maps if needed. Full writing examples available on request.
